High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) coating is an upgraded thermal spray coating process used to improve or restore a component’s surface properties or dimensions, thus extending equipment life by significantly increasing erosion and wear resistance, and corrosion protection.
LOUKAS is familiar with this technology, and its predecessors(arc spaying/metal spraying) from the 70s and again was the pioneer to introduce HVOF in the early 2000s.
Molten or semi-molten materials are sprayed onto the surface utilizing the high temperature, high-velocity gas stream, producing a dense spray coating that can be ground to a very top surface finish.
Applications
- Cylinder liners
- Cooling jackets
- Valve spindles
- Shafts
- Valve housing
- Etc.
